LONDON, 20 JANUARY, 2017 – Malaysian conglomerate AlloyMtd Group will launch residential sales of One Crown Place, a major new mixed-use scheme on the edge of the City of London, to the public on 8 February, 2017.

Located in London’s historic Sun Street conservation area, the development is set to deliver a total of 246 private apartments, a boutique hotel, 140,000 sq ft of premium office space, retail units totaling 7,000 sq ft, and a historic Georgian terrace that will be fully restored as part of the scheme.

A selection of homes will be available at launch, with prices starting from £725,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. The first residents will move in to One Crown Place upon completion in summer 2020.

Tan Sri Dr Azmil Khalid, President and Chief Executive Officer of AlloyMtd Group, said: “The launch of One Crown Place is an exciting moment for us, and represents a real landmark scheme in an area that is continually evolving for the better. The development is truly mixed-use, offering the highest standards in both residential and retail with top British design, creating a new live-work hub right on the edge of the City of London. One Crown Place is set to become a vibrant destination that is not just Monday-to-Friday, nine-to-five, and we will be selling to owner-occupiers to achieve this, with UK residents getting the first opportunity to buy. We look forward to showcasing it to the public for the first time next month.”

Designed by award-winning international architectural practice Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), One Crown Place is a combination of modern, cutting-edge architecture housing a mix of high specification offices with spectacular apartments across several buildings, including two striking terracotta clad towers, the tallest of which is 33 storeys high. An additional level of character is created through the restoration of the last remaining Georgian terrace in the area, which will house a clubhouse for the residents and a boutique hotel.

One Crown Place will provide residents with a world-class suite of amenities, promoting a shared sense of community, alongside more private spaces for down-time. These include a state-of-the-art gymnasium, a private dining room, residential lounge, cinema room, treatment room, studio and a sharing terrace. Each apartment provides residents with flexible living through clever zoning, offering a series of light-filled spaces that are warm but contemporary, industrial yet glamorous. Communal spaces and apartments at One Crown Place have been designed by renowned interior firms Bowler James Brindley while the development’s nine penthouses have been designed by Sophie Ashby’s Studio Ashby.

The development is ideally placed for local transport links, within five minutes of both Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, the latter a site for the new central Crossrail route. Spaces for up to 938 bicycles will be provided as part of the scheme, with the City of London, Broadgate Circle, Old Street’s Silicon Roundabout, Spitalfields Market and Shoreditch’s creative hubs all within easy walking distance.

John Bushell, Principal at KPF, said: “This project means a great deal to me; I feel passionately about it. We are a modernist firm and embrace modern architecture but we feel it should have soul and character, humanity and human experience in it. Our vision for One Crown Place was to respect its context, using the buildings and materials of the past and evolve this into a really intricate and innovative design which will transform the local area.”

One Crown Place is a development by AlloyMtd Group, with CBRE acting as development manager and sales broker for the residential and commercial units. For more information, please visit
