EAST COAST EXPRESSWAY OPERATOR TREATS UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN FOR HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI
Kuantan, 18 July 2014 – Toll Concessionaire of the East Coast Expressway (ECE), ANIH Berhad shared the excitement of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with 50 underprivileged children from Rumah Anak Yatim & Miskin D’Nasti and Rumah Anak Yatim & Miskin Nur Iman through its charity program in Kuantan.
ANIH Berhad’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aims to aid and liven up the spirit of Hari Raya amongst the needy particularly in the area of ECE’s development corridor.
Before the breaking of fast, the children ranging from 7 to 12 years old were taken for a shopping spree at a shopping mall in Kuantan to shop for their Hari Raya clothings. A total of 20 ANIH Berhad’s staff members played host to these children around the shopping complex and helped them choose their clothings.
“A Ramadhan program like this is our annual initiative in ECE. We feel it is important to continue this tradition to help those in need especially the orphans. We had allocated RM200 for each orphan for their Hari Raya shopping preparations. We are glad to share the joy of raya with them and hope they are happy with the outing,” said ANIH Berhad Director, Nik Fauzi Tan Sri Nik Hussein.
At hand to render support was Puan Noriha Derin, Director of Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia Eastern Region. She handed out “duit raya” to the children on behalf of ANIH.
Other programs carried out by ANIH during the festive season will be distribution of goodies giveaway and Travel Time Advisory (TTA) leaflets to motorists at the toll plaza.
