MTD Construction Sdn Bhd (MTDC), a key subsidiary of MTD Group, was incorporated on 31 March 1980 in Malaysia. Over the years, the Kuala Lumpur-based construction and civil engineering company has built a strong reputation with recognised expertise in mountain road construction, geotechnical engineering, erosion control, building development and construction, and highway maintenance. Its track record includes an extensive portfolio of completed projects, both locally and globally, spanning the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, India, and other markets.
Among its notable achievements are the upgrading and construction of the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway (ECE) Phases 1 and 2. Internationally, MTDC has delivered landmark projects such as the Jamarat Bridge in Mina, Saudi Arabia, the 36-kilometre South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in the Philippines, and Phase 1A of the National Government Administrative Centre (NGAC) in Clark City for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Domestically, MTDC contributed to the country’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) infrastructure through Package V7 (Bandar Tun Hussein Onn to Taman Mesra) and V208 (Taman Pinggiran Putra to Persiaran Alpina), involving the construction of viaduct guideways and related works.
In September 2024, MTDC was awarded a contract by the Jabatan Kerja Raya Sabah for the construction and completion of the Sabah Pan Borneo Highway Phase 1B. The project involves upgrading the road from Kampung Lumou Baru to Kampung Toupos (WP 33), spanning a total length of 19.5 kilometres.
